Baby penguins being friends
I love penguins. They are very awesome and extremely cute. The babies are so fuzzy, and they look so cute. Penguins are
birds that almost all live in the Southern hemisphere. However, many types of penguins
live in Antarctica, and the glaciers in Antarctica are melting. They are
endangered and need help. Other types of penguins live in Australia, Africa,
New Zealand, the Galapagos Islands, and Argentina. Penguins are fascinating animals.
Everyone should love them and want to help save them. There are many types of
penguins such as emperor penguins, adèlie penguins, macaroni penguins, chinstraps,
Galapagos penguins, little blue penguins (which are also sometimes called the
fairy penguin), Gentoo penguins, African penguins, king penguins, and many
other types. They range in size. Emperor penguins are the biggest penguins and
they are about 45 inches tall and weigh 90 pounds. The smallest penguin is the
little blue penguin and it is about 10 inches tall and weighs about 2.5 pounds.
Penguins are also excellent swimmers. They are black and white helps hide them
from predators in the sea. A penguin’s body is designed for swimming with its
paddle-like wings, web-shaped feet, and body shape. They eat fish, krill, and
squid, so they must swim in the ocean and chase their prey to catch and eat it.
Penguins don’t have teeth, so they swallow their prey whole. They use their
pointy beaks to grab their prey and their textured tongue to hold onto food
while they eat it. They also are good at diving to catch food. They spend a lot
of their life in the water, hunting for food, but they lay eggs and raise their
babies on land. I hope you love penguins now.

I had no idea there were that many kinds of penguins or that they lived so many places. I know that killer whales eat them. I am NOT a fan of whales, but I am all for penguins.
ReplyDeleteI see why u think that Penguins are so cute but I have a question. Why do penguins live in the snow. By the way it is really amazing that emperor penguins are 90 pounds!!!!
