Saving Penguins!
So Cute!!!! Those are two emperor penguins with their baby. How could anyone not want to help save them?
Hello! Let’s talk more about penguins and saving them. As I mentioned in my previous post, the penguins are endangered. Penguins are extremely cute and wonderful, so we must protect them. The penguins cannot control us and make us stop hurting them, so we must do it for them. There are a few causes of why the penguin population is declining. Using fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide and other green house gases. Greenhouse gases trap solar radiation, which hurts the penguins. Also, those gases help deteriorate the ozone layer. There is a huge hole in the ozone layer over Antarctica. Of course it’s over Antarctica. Many people don’t care about the penguins. If the hole was over the United States, people would realize that it was a problem, and they would try to fix it. But no. It had to be over Antarctica. So people don’t care. That hurts the poor penguins. Why is the human race (as a whole) so mean and selfish??????? Well anyway, the point is the penguins have a problem. Since it is getting warmer, the outside edges of the Polar Ice Caps are melting. If we keep destroying the environment by releasing fossil fuels, eventually, the South and North Pole will both disappear. And even if you’re not obsessed with penguins, think about all the animals that are affected by the disappearance of the Polar Ice Caps or even just the disappearance of penguins! The food web would be totally messed up and some species might go extinct, while the population of other species might explode. YIKES!!!!!!

Oh, no! That sounds horrible. Before I didn't really think about it that way, but now my opinions have completely changed. I agree, this is horrible and it is mean and selfish for the human race to do that.
ReplyDeleteI feel very badly for these poor penguins. I know you like them because they are cute, but are there other reasons we should save them?
ReplyDeleteI totally agree when you say that we must reduce our carbon footprint. Penguins are my favorite animal, and I think that humans should think more about the things that were there first: ANIMALS!
ReplyDeleteOh, now I see the big picture! Thanks for explaining things so well!
